Design

I designed my first website back in about 1996 using Notepad and a crude image editor. The Internet was still quite a new technology insomuch as the general public was concerned. Most people were still on dial-up back then so much of the focus was on keeping files sizes to a minimum. Bitmaps, jpgs and gifs primarily, were used with great care. Obviously much has changed since then. Designers are no longer shackled, at least to the same extent, by bandwidth considerations, and the tool set has expanded and evolved.

I perform a variety of design work. Most frequently this includes :

• Web page layout and design
• Image processing and manipulation (transforms, masking, airbrishing, optimization, colour correction ect.)
• PDF documents and forms
• Basic illustration (vector and raster)
• Flash banners and ads
• Call or write with details regarding print.

Packages

While it is impossible to come up with a one-size-fits-all solution, I've assembled here two typical packages in an effort to provide some idea of the costs involved.

A Basic (Open Source) Content Management System is available for experienced users. Some clients tend to have trouble with them so suitability is evaluated beforehand.The last thing we want to do is to pair someone with a product that will frustrate or overwhelm them.

I hope to come up with a one or two more in addition to these with the objective of filling the gaps.
